Mouser Electronics, a global authorized agent for introducing new electronic components and industrial automation products, has launched the sale of Allegro MicroSystems AHV85003 and AHV85043 isolated silicon carbide (SiC) gate driver chipsets. These are two highly integrated products that effectively address the challenges in power conversion design by reducing system complexity and bill of materials (BOM) costs. The AHV85003 and AHV85043 gate driver chipsets are optimized for driving discrete SiC FETs, suitable for automotive on-board chargers (OBCs), solar inverters, industrial robots, data center power racks, and general power applications.

AHV85003 and AHV85043 isolated SiC gate driver chipsets use Power Thru ™ Designed to simultaneously transmit PWM signals and bias power without the need for traditional bootstrap circuits or dedicated auxiliary bias power supplies. AHV85003 and AHV85043 also offer bipolar outputs with adjustable negative rails for SiC FET turn off and enhanced dv/dt immunity, while equipped with independent 6A output gate pull-up and pull-down pins for efficient high-frequency switching. When used in conjunction with the recommended external transformer, AHV85003 and AHV85043 can provide a self powered isolated gate drive solution. There are multiple recommended third-party transformers to choose from, each optimized for different driving voltages, gate charges, and isolation characteristics.

The AHV85003 and AHV85043 isolated SiC gate driver chipsets comply with AEC-Q100 Level 1 standards and operate within a temperature range of -40 ° C to 125 ° C. AHV85003 and AHV85043 also have primary and secondary over temperature protection functions. There are two evaluation kits that support AHV85003 and AHV85043: Allegro MicroSystems APEK85003K18ES-02-MH and APEK85003K18ES-04MH, both of which can be ordered through Maoze.
